Customers are looking for products and services online, through blogs, reviews, social media, apps and related documents such as online brochures, eBooks, interactive experiences and more. Content is King Ads are still effective in bringing prospects to these content pieces, but the ads don’t work by themselves. The Belgium trade commission organized a large group of Wallonia producers for an event at the Tiff Lightbox to introduce a new collaboration with the Canada Media Fund. The event was also hosted by Wallimage, the belgium media funding organization. They explained the extremely favorable funding climate for producing content in Wallonia and arranged meetings with producers. We met with several production companies that could benefit from using ComicReply to promote their films and TV shows online. We also received some great advice and ideas for growing ComicReply.

In this Value Proposition Workshop we examined the way we have been collecting market research information about the various ways the ComicReply platform can help marketers and had a ‘eureka moment’ leading to the Digital Toolkit Survey and Toolkit Directory. Over the past few years the number of digital marketing tools and platforms grew exponentially, as presented in the famous chiemartec.com reports. But we have never seen a live survey asking marketers which tools they actually use. Everyone has a different marketing stack and it’s very difficult to keep track of it all. The session focused on the processes and tactics of collecting market research information and interviewing techniques. This led us to a realization that we should be mapping out all of the Marketing Engagement Tools and survey the market to find out what people actually use, what’s good, bad or ugly about each tool.

Organized by Business France North America (the French Embassy Trade Office) the event brought successful France startups to Ryerson’s Digital Media Zone with presentations and meetings. We met with several potential partners and keep the conversation going as ComicReply is developed further and reaching the ability to integrate with third-party APIs for various purposes. The event was made possible with the support of companies such as Bell, Emerillon Capital, Quebecor, CGI & Rogers Communication. They have been involved to select the best French tech companies to participate to the French Tech Tour program. The purpose of the French Tech Tour Canada is to promote technology partnerships along with encouraging business development between Canadian and French tech entrepreneurs.
