For years, the Heart & Stroke Foundation has been collecting donations for medical research through yearly lotteries and other initiatives. Their research investments into disease recovery and prevention is unmatched in the country.

Over the last few years, most investments have been directed towards the same proven medical labs and scientists, and a second look at the investment strategy was required in order to diversify their investments - to give a chance for young researchers, expanding labs, and get more valuable medical research for the money.

In collaboration with Williams Research International, a database system was developed to assist in the search for possible diversification strategies. The project involved an elaborate database system and a series of custom reports, presenting and summarizing the data. Williams Research reviewed the data and submitted a report of the findings to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
