LAUNCHED 2006 Visit The Site HIGHLIGHTS * Ad-serving infrastructure Beta project * Web-based media server design + development * Beta project was expanded to a suite of products * Proprietary digital signage advertising network * Point-of purchase video ads at over 40 retailers ABOUT THE PROJECT Sarolta Technologies provides a network of digital signs for Point Of Purchase(POP) advertising. Sarolta broadcasts TV-style commercials to digital displays in over 40 retail locations in Toronto. In order to manage the ad content and administer the machines remotely, Sarolta needed a web-based system that will be reliable, track all activity, and be easy to use. In 2003, envisioning the coming Digital Signage revolution, Sarolta contracted Giant Step to develop a beta project of the Sarolta Media Server. The web-based software included many features, communicating with many computer-aided digital displays. It allowed Sarolta to see what is currently playing on each machine, upload video files, track play time for each machine and so on. Expanding on the beta project, Sarolta offers a complete Digital Signage Advertising Network including a Media Server and Campaign Management tools.

YUZOZ
LAUNCHED
2006
HIGHLIGHTS
* Game demo for space-themed gaming company
* Based on random numbers generated from space
* Start-up by renowned space entrepreneur
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Yuzoz introduced games based on proprietary methods to capture data from live astronomical events such as solar flares, northern lights, the winds of space and the movements of clouds on Venus via satellites. This data could be used to do almost anything: pick from a list of excuses for being late to work or school; select the notes for a cosmically-generated tune or find lucky numbers. The possibilities are endless on how many things the stars can decide.
Giant Step developed a demo of what a space-themed online game could be. The "Lightning Strikes - Keno from Space" game was a working concept for "Games From Space" - the first games based on a branded random number generator using the magical randomness of space.
A Mark Twain once said "Everybody complains about the weather, but nobody does anything about it". In "Lightning Strikes", players get to bet on where in the world lightning will strike next.
