In 2005, the firm expanded into a custom designed boutique facility in Oakville, Ontario, and needed to present the company and the new facilities online. Giant Step developed a custom website featuring images and sounds from Open Mind's consumer recruiting call centre, as well as an online presentation introducing potential customers to the company: "Your biggest fan. Your harshest critic. They both have something to say. Are you listening?"

The group needed a way to keep track of all of the communication updates made to these entities with various editorial and management views. A custom networked database system was developed to support the Business Communications group. The system allows the group to track all on-going communication updates, includes multiple access levels for management and staff, and generates reports for viewing by the senior management of CIBC.

Energy Efficiency Management System CLIENT CITY OF TORONTO (Note: This project was done by a founder before starting Giant Step) LAUNCHED 2001 Visit The Site HIGHLIGHTS * Produced an internal management system * Tracks an energy efficiency program * Upgrading appliances in municipal buildings * Reporting energy and financial savings ABOUT THE PROJECT As part of an energy efficiency program, the City of Toronto decided to change thousands of energy consuming appliances to better technologies that consume less electricity. The program was implemented in all City-owned buildings throughout the Greater Toronto Area. A database system was developed to keep track and report on all of the information regarding the energy efficiency program, including all upgraded equipment and corresponding energy and financial saving estimates.
