Even in today’s high-tech world, signatures are still recorded and administered on paper. Medical research requires practically a million personal signatures throughout the design of a new drug. Managing and auditing these ‘signature vaults’ takes many years. The FDA produced Title 21CFR11, a law that pressed the life science industry to speed up the management and auditing of signatures using electronic signatures. Sarolta broadcasts TV-style commercials to digital displays in over 40 retail locations in Toronto. In order to manage the ad content and administer the machines remotely, Sarolta needed a web-based system that will be reliable, track all activity, and be easy to use. In 2003, envisioning the coming Digital Signage revolution, Sarolta contracted Giant Step to develop a beta project of the Sarolta Media Server. The web-based software included many features, communicating with many computer-aided digital displays. It allowed Sarolta to see what is currently playing on each machine, upload video files, track play time for each machine and so on. Expanding on the beta project, Sarolta offers a complete Digital Signage Advertising Network including a Media Server and Campaign Management tools.

Written for students by students, THE DISH is all about high school and teenage life. In the summer of 2005, Giant Step was asked to develop the online strategy and deployment for THE DISH. At the time the paper had a circulation of 22,000 printed copies going to all 100+ Toronto high schools every month.
