Kate Taylor

Kate Taylor is an abstract artist born in England, working out of her studio in Toronto, Ontario. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Western University where she was taught painting by internationally-renowned artist, Paterson Ewen. Inspired by nature, Kate is committed to capturing joy in her brightly coloured pieces. She has gallery representation in Toronto, Montreal, Waterloo, Kingston, Boston, New Jersey and Grand Rapids. She is part of SolidColour and ColourShift Abstract Art Collectives, showing in art fairs across Canada and the US. When not painting, Kate is President of Kaleidoscope Marketing, an agency specializing in executive engagement, Past Chair of the Canadian Advertising Museum and Past President of the American Marketing Association.

It took a 30+ year career in engineering and management to discover what I really wanted to do. Be an artist. In 2005 at 55 I made the switch to fulltime landscape artist (and freedom 55) with my first show – the Riverdale Art Walk. Since then I have participated in well over 100 art shows, presently work with 6 galleries, am an ex chair of the Board of the Artists Network and am now an active member of that board. Highlights include 4 time “top ten seller” at the McMichael Volunteers Autumn art sale, 2 time winner of the People’s Choice award at the TWAC/CNE juried art show, winner of the Jurors award at the Little Art Show
Gary Bercovitch, Secretary
Gary is a painter, sculptor, curator, impresario, inventor, designer and writer.
Active with artist groups and galleries for over twenty years, Bercovitch is a seasoned fundraiser and recruiter.
An avid entrepreneur, he has had marketing, communications and communication technologies businesses.
He is a self taught artist, best known for his abstractions in plays with colour, flow and form.
Bercovitch has exhibited his work widely in Canada and the United States and his art is held in many private collections in North America, Europe and Asia.
He is also a healer, a charmsmith and an adventurous cook.
He works front of house for the Art Gallery of Ontario where he delights in guiding and fostering the love of art.”
Paul Brandejs, Member
Paul Brandejs is a Canadian abstract artist who isolates the abstract that exists in his photographs and print the images on canvas which is stretched onto variously shaped stretcher, producing a 3D efect that enhance the abstract nature of each image. He views the shape and texture of the canvas as a catalyst to unlimited creativity and pushes canvas from a traditional square or rectangle to a new art form. Paul studied in Banff School of fine Arts and holds a four year diploma in Fine Arts from Ontario College of Art, spending his last year of study in Florence, Italy, studying under Canadian Figurative Artist Tom La Pierre. He also received a Communications & Design/Editorial Design degree from Ontario College of Art and is a member for Registered Graphic Designe (R.G.D.) of Ontario since 1996.
Jessica Lin, Member
Jessica Lin is a Toronto-based photographer and artist with a love of travel and adventure. While traveling in France in 2008, she discovered her creative passion for photographing new and different places, and also met the man who would become her husband. Trips to Ireland, England, Scotland, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Japan, Cuba and the southern U.S. have allowed her to build up a library of images capturing these other worlds. Jessica extracts elements from her various photographs and recomposes them to create images with surreal layers, and turn places into fantasies. She created her first collection in 2012 using images from her trip to France.

Roderik Mayne is a well-known art director and production designer in Canadian film and television. His many credits include That Beautiful Somewhere, .45, Jeff Ltd, Street Time, Dear America (anthology series), Due South, Isabella Rocks, Murray McGuire, Wind at My Back, We the Jury, Robocop, Riverdale, The Campbells, Night Heat, Screech Owls, Animorphs, Goosebumps, Madonna The Early Years, Beautiful Dreamers and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. Educated in both Canada and the U.S., Rod holds a master’s degree in fine arts from Carnegie-Mellon University, a BFA in design from Concordia University, a BA in anthropology from McGill University, and a diploma in design from the Banff Centre. His paintings have been exhibited in and around the Toronto area.

Donald Bray, Member
Donald Scott Bray is a visual artist in Toronto specializing in high multiple exposure photographic composites, creating fictitious embodiments of human models. Inspiration came from a BC “Expo ‘86” magazine article featuring high multiple exposure photography. Today the work is mostly digital, but occasionally still done in camera on film.
Donald also works in oils, painting surreal allegorical compositions inspired from dreams and classical literature.
Exhibitions in Toronto, Montreal, Halifax, New York, and Paris, with the unfortunate talent of gallery closings within months after exhibiting!
Diploma, Industrial Design & Photography, Fanshawe College, 1986. Donald is one of Canada’s most accomplished Industrial Designer’s, completing projects for medical equipment companies, museums, professional sports teams, NASA, Ontario Power Generation, and numerous other small but very impressive technology developers – most in Ontario. Tenures on the boards of the Ontario Product Development Management Association and the Association of Chartered Industrial Designers of Ontario. Donald’s ID expertise is source of the custom designed and manufactured mounting system for his fine art prints.
Born in Beirut Lebanon, lived in cities across Canada, and an artist with protanomaly colour vision deficiency.
Joanna Strong, Member
Joanna Strong is a still life painter whose observation-based oil paintings explore the intriguing appearances and symbolic meanings of everyday objects that surround us. She is best known for her paintings of rubber band balls, which use elastic bands from our daily lives to create mysterious worlds and symbolize layers of thoughts and feelings. Originally from Newfoundland, she has a BFA from NSCAD, an MFA from Waterloo, and a post-grad diploma in Computer Animation from Sheridan. Her work has appeared in many exhibitions, both juried and solo, and she is a three-time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Award. Joanna lives with her husband and two children in Toronto.
